Today my friend and I took my step daughter and my friends daughter to a socially distanced circus (with no animals). I loved watching their faces light up especially at the “magic” parts.
Following on from this we walked to the beach front, had an ice cream trying to drag the day out longer. Chatting between us, my friends little girl suddenly went “oh wow look the magic has followed us on the water”.
We look at what she’s pointing at and see the sunshine dancing, sparkling on the water. It does indeed look like magic. In that moment I love experiencing this through a 4 year olds eyes, the amazement and awe.
Later on when the kids are in bed, my hubster and I head out for a walk with my friends as trusty babysitters. We hike along a coastal path and on the way back stop to watch the sky turn into inky blues as the night comes in.
We find a bench to sit on, listening to the waves crash, holding hands, breathing in the sea air. “I love the way the sky changes, it’s just like magic” my husband says after several minutes of comfortable silence.
Day 38 guys, the magic is there if you take a moment to open your eyes and look for it.
